The Select Committee on Pension Policy (SCPP) studies issues and policies affecting the state's public employee retirement systems and makes recommendations to the Legislature regarding changes. Its statutory authority is contained in RCW 41.04.281.
The SCPP meets during the legislative interim. Its specific areas of interest include benefits design, retirement eligibility requirements and pension funding methods. The SCPP also:
- Receives the results of actuarial audits administered by the Pension Funding Council.
- Reviews and makes recommendations to the Pension Funding Council regarding changes to retirement assumptions or contributions rates.
PUBLIC NOTICE: In order to reduce administrative costs, printed copies of agendas and meeting materials will no longer be provided to the public at SCPP meetings. Instead, agendas will be posted two weeks prior to the meeting. Meeting materials, except PowerPoint handouts, will be posted the day before each meeting. This allows the public time to view and print materials. PowerPoint presentations will be posted the day after each meeting. You may access links to the agendas and meeting materials from our Meetings page.
