  5. Legislation passed in the 2014 session addressing the full funding of basic education:
    1. E2SSB 6552 - Improving student success by modifying instructional hour and graduation requirements.
    2. ESSB 6002 - Making 2014 supplemental operating appropriations.
    3. E2SHB 2207 - Eliminating the reduction in state basic education funding that occurs in counties with federal forest lands. Other bills introduced addressing revenue for funding basic education.
  6. Legislation proposed in the 2014 session addressing the full funding of basic education.
    1. SB 6574 - Improving education financing.
    2. HB 2792 - Implementing the state's education funding obligation by increasing allocations to school districts, which include materials, supplies, and operating costs, all-day kindergarten, and class size reduction in kindergarten through third grade.
    3. SB 5881- Prioritizing state revenue growth for education.
    4. ESB 6499, SHB 2792 (Sec. 7), and ESSB 6002 (Sec. 924, as passed House) -Creating the joint task force on local education financing reforms.

Agenda:  
  1. Approval of December and February minutes.
  2. Public testimony and Board discussion of gifts of food/beverage provided to legislators on infrequent occasions. This is the first step in a process whereby the Board plans to adopt a rule on the subject. Further discussion and public comment is contemplated at future meetings.
  3. *Informal advice: Travel by a legislator when all or a portion of the travel is provided on a complimentary basis.
    1. Itinerary of proposed trip to Turkey does not indicate that the trip is a trade mission or a trip which involves substantial services performed by legislators on behalf of the state or the legislature.
    2. Proposed trip to Wyoming to tour natural resource extraction and power productions is permitted.
  4. Employment disclosure filings.
  5. Recess public meeting. Convene in a non-public executive session to discuss quasi-judicial matters on a pending complaint prior to determination of reasonable cause. Time to be announced.
  6. Resume public meeting, call for public comment, and any unfinished business. Adjourn .

*RCW 42.52.010(9d) - gift does not include: Payments by a governmental or nongovernmental entity of reasonable expenses incurred in connection with a speech, presentation, appearance, or trade mission made in an official capacity. As used in this subsection, "reasonable expenses" are limited to travel, lodging, and subsistence payments incurred that day before through the day after the event.
