Abstract State agencies use information technology (IT) to accomplish a myriad of different tasks.  In 2005, the Legislature directed JLARC to review agency reporting of IT expenditures and to evaluate the state’s IT project evaluation and funding processes.  The Legislature was also interested in identifying processes used by other public and private entities as sources for possible improvements in Washington.  This report provides the results from our review and evaluation, and also offers recommendations for reporting state agency IT expenditures and improving the IT project evaluation/funding processes.
