Corky Mattingly is serving her second term on the Select Committee on Pension Policy.
Ms. Mattingly was born and raised in Grandview, WA. She lived in San Diego, El Paso, and San Jose before returning to the Yakima Valley, where she has resided for 27 years. Ms. Mattingly has two daughters and two grandchildren.
She was elected as Yakima County Auditor in 2001 and has been reelected for two terms since then. Prior to her being County Auditor, she was a regional coordinator for Maria Cantwell’s 2000-2001 U.S. Senate campaign. Ms. Mattingly was also employed as Central Washington Regional Representative for U.S. Senator Patty Murray; legal case manager for Hazel & Hazel Law Firm; and community relations/development director, YWCA of Yakima.
Ms. Mattingly’s community involvement includes serving as President for the Washington Association of County Auditors, which she now serves as Legislative Co-Chair. She currently serves as Chair for the Washington State Women’s History Consortium, and is involved with the Yakima Basin Storage Alliance Board (Black Rock Reservoir), the local Camp Fire USA Board, the Yakima Kiwanis, and the League of Women Voters.
Previous community activities include Chair of the Yakima Valley Community College Board of Trustees, Leadership Yakima, Yakima and Kittitas Counties Dispute Resolution Center Board, and the Yakima County Accountability Boards.
Ms. Mattingly earned a B.A. in English and Education, from Eastern Washington University, and earned her M.Ed. from Heritage College.
