Topic Conflict of Interest - Spouse's Employment
Does the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives have a conflict of interest under the Ethics Act due to his spouse's employment with a caucus political/campaign committee?
No.  The facts presented show no use of influence or official position to advance the spouse's employment and the Act contains no provision which would prohibit the Chief Clerk from having an interest resulting from his spouse's employment.  RCW 42.52.020.
