Abstract
|
As part of workers’ compensation reform legislation passed in 2011, the Legislature directed JLARC to conduct a performance audit by 2015 of the state’s workers’ compensation claims management system. This briefing report outlines JLARC’s proposed study design for evaluating claims management. JLARC plans to use multiple evaluation tools and an interdisciplinary team of experts to conduct the audit. An appropriation in the 2013-15 Biennial Budget would be necessary to fund the cost of expert consultants. JLARC is scheduled to present a progress report to the Legislature in December 2013 and a report on the results of the audit in June 2015.
