JLARC’s 2000 performance audit of the public mental health system included 14 recommendations to address identified problem areas. Previous follow-ups found that many recommendations have already been implemented. Other key efforts were still in progress, and JLARC will be following up on these. Additionally, there have been major legislative changes to the mental health system since JLARC conducted its 2000 audit. JLARC will review the legislative changes and progress on implementation to asses the appropriate focus for future follow up on this program.
