Abstract
JLARC examined alternative uses for the residential habilitation centers and carried out a performance audit of the operations of the community-based services system.  The studies identified the need for the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to develop management tools to support both legislative and agency decision making for the DDD services system.  This status report provided an opportunity for JLARC to assess DSHS’s responsiveness to the Committee’s recommendations for improvement of the organization and management of these important areas of state human services.
