Abstract

This report summarizes JLARC has learned about WorkFirst and its success in meeting the mandates and objectives established by the legislature.  An additional focus includes detail on the possible impacts of the 5-year time limit on welfare benefits, which will impact some clients in August of 2002.  Based on analysis conducted in this and other states, it appears the potential negative impact of time limits may not be as severe as some had originally predicted.
