House Video Internship

Program

An internship is available to a currently enrolled student or recent graduate for the 2007 legislative session in the Washington House of Representatives Video department. This position provides a unique opportunity for students to gain professional-level experience in a lively setting. Legislative footage shot and edited by House Video staff appears frequently on commercial television newscasts and government access stations around the state. Intern will work on weekly Legislative Update program airing in 43 cities, news interviews and other productions.

The intern will perform videographer and general production assistant duties and must already have experience in these areas. An opportunity to strengthen professional skills will be provided by knowledgeable crew members and will include training on and extensive use of a teleprompter.

The ideal candidate is skilled, responsible, efficient, attentive to detail and able to make a commitment to the job. Students who apply should be able to work well in a team setting.

The intern must be an enrolled student or a recent graduate. Course credit will be determined by the student's faculty sponsor.

The internship is a salaried position. Hours are approximately 8 to 5. Occasional overtime may be rewarded with compensatory time.
